The freeze-dried coffee chips retain the original flavor of coffee well. Due to its loose and porous internal structure and fast dissolution rate, it is a "instant coffee" that is convenient to measure and can easily control the concentration of the beverage.
In 2006, China experienced heavy rainfall, leading to widespread flooding in many regions. When agricultural machinery, such as diesel engines, was submerged, timely maintenance and care were crucial to prevent corrosion, damage, and long-term failure. If not properly addressed, water exposure could lead to serious issues, including internal rust and mechanical breakdown. Here are some standard maintenance procedures that should be followed after a flood:
First, thoroughly wash the exterior of the diesel engine with water to remove dirt, debris, and surface contaminants. Then use a metal cleaner or a suitable detergent to eliminate any oil residue on the engine’s surface.
Next, position the diesel engine so that the oil pan’s drain plug is at the lowest point. Remove the drain plug and let the oil and water mixture drain out. Be careful not to completely empty the oil; stop draining when the flow becomes mostly water. Once drained, reinsert the plug securely.
Then, take off the air filter assembly. Remove the upper cover and the filter element. If there's water inside, clean the components using a metal cleaner or diesel fuel. For foam filters, wash them with a mild detergent or soapy water (avoiding gasoline), rinse thoroughly, dry, and lightly oil them before reinstalling. If it's a paper filter, replace it entirely. Ensure all parts are properly cleaned, dried, and reassembled according to manufacturer guidelines.
After that, remove the intake and exhaust pipes along with the muffler to drain any water trapped inside. Open the decompression lever and manually turn the engine to check for water discharge from the intake and exhaust ports. If water comes out, continue cranking until all moisture is removed. Reinstall the pipes and muffler, add a small amount of oil into the air intake, and crank the engine several times before replacing the air filter.
If the engine has been flooded for an extended period and the flywheel is difficult to turn, it may indicate rusted cylinder liners or piston rings. In such cases, carefully remove the rust, clean the affected areas, and replace any damaged parts immediately.
Remove the fuel tank and drain all the fuel and water. Check the fuel filter and lines for water contamination and drain if necessary. Clean the fuel tank and replace the filter, then reconnect the fuel system and refill with clean diesel.
Drain the cooling system, clean the water passages, and fill with clean river water or boiled well water until the float rises. Turn on the throttle switch and start the engine. Monitor the oil level indicator and listen for any unusual noises. Once everything seems normal, run the engine through a break-in process: first at idle, then mid-speed, and finally high-speed, each for about five minutes. After running-in, drain the old oil, add new oil, and run the engine at medium speed for another five minutes before returning it to regular use.
These steps can help restore the engine’s performance and prevent long-term damage caused by water exposure. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for specific models.
