Last night, the heavens opened up, and the rain poured down hard. Chris and I had just landed at the airport after a short getaway, ready to head home. But instead of the usual quiet exit, our little ones greeted us with a cheerful welcome wagon—literally waiting there to pick us up. As we made our way home, the weather seemed to mirror our mood. A bright cerulean sky adorned with fluffy pink and white clouds welcomed us back, offering a stark contrast to the dreary grayness we'd left behind in Baltimore. It was refreshing to feel the warmth of the sun again, even if just for a brief moment. By late afternoon, however, the atmosphere shifted dramatically. A dark cloud rolled in fast, its approach heralded by booming thunder. By evening, it had fully settled over us, unleashing torrents of rain that washed away the lingering sunlight and quenched the dry earth beneath our feet. The kids didn’t seem to mind the storm at all. In fact, they were thrilled. We all found ourselves dancing in the rain, laughing as the cool droplets splashed around us.
