Last week, as I prepared to film the newest episode of KitchenWise, I just couldn't shake this odd feeling. By the time evening rolled around, I was completely exhausted, nursing what felt like a brewing headache, and hadn’t even bothered with makeup or brushing my hair after a full day of cleaning and running errands. Aliyah must’ve sensed my lack of energy because she came over and said, "Mom, I can handle this. Let me take care of it." Honestly, she did an amazing job—she totally hit it out of the park.
We ended up filming this super fun and easy recipe together. It’s one of those kid-friendly projects that turned out to be both entertaining and delicious. For the rice crispy treats, we followed the instructions on the box (one bag of mini marshmallows, naturally) and went all out with the chocolate. Instead of just dipping them, we melted a bag of chocolate chips with half a cup of heavy cream in the microwave, then drizzled it over the treats. They’re perfect for Valentine’s Day, which is just around the corner—only seven days away! I’m already counting down.
I tried to give some pointers here and there, but honestly, the girls didn’t need much guidance. Their hands were steady, and their creativity shone through.
These chocolate-dipped rice crispy hearts were not only a blast to make but also absolutely delightful to eat. Each bite was a little reminder of how much fun we had putting them together.
