The 2nd National Drug Screening Technology Symposium was successfully held in Shanghai

From October 25th to 27th, 2009, the “Second National Drug Screening Technology Seminar” jointly organized by American Essen Biosciences Co., Roche and German National Drug Screening Center was held in Shanghai National New Drug Screening Center. The conference invited researchers and technical experts from the 16 provinces, 23 cities and countries in Korea, the United States, Australia, Germany and other countries to participate in drug screening.

The theme of this conference is “Progress in Non-labeled Drug Screening Technology”. Case reports were made by scientists from Aisen Biosciences, Roche, Germany and domestic and foreign customers. The in-depth introduction of the xCELLigence system is unmarked and real-time. The principle, technical advantages of cell detection methods and its new application in the research and analysis of drug screening research and toxicology, oncology, medical microbiology and virology.

Essen Biosciences has created the microelectronics biosensor technology used in the xCELLigence system and developed a non-labeled real-time cell analysis platform jointly developed with Roche. It breaks through the bottleneck of the traditional end-point cell analysis technology and automates the entire process. Monitoring and data collection captures full-scale cellular effects and provides a real-time, unlabeled, dynamic detection platform for cell-based biological studies such as drug screening. Among them, the RTCA MP system can simultaneously analyze 6x96 samples, and its high-throughput characteristics are suitable for a large number of drug screening processes.

During the meeting, the technicians of Essen Biotech demonstrated the use of the xCELLigence system and conducted live demonstrations of different mechanisms of anti-tumor drug-specific cell action, GPCR and inhibition of cell migration by cell migration inhibitors. Participants were further familiar with and understood the specific operation of the system and its advantages in the experiment. Many researchers in the field of drug screening showed strong interest in the system and cooperation intentions.
