Raising sheep refers to the male and female lambs that are lambs from the time of weaning to the first breeding. They are mostly aged from 3 to 18 months. They are characterized by rapid growth and development, and require large amounts of nutrients. If malnutrition occurs during this period, they will be significant. Affect the growth and development, so as to form a small size, light weight, high limbs, chest narrow, shallow body. At the same time, it will weaken the body type, sparse coat and poor quality, sexual maturity and maturation delay, can not match the species on time, and will affect the life of the production performance, and even lose the value of species. It can be said that bred sheep is the future of the flock, and how the quality of their cultivation is the key to the rapid change of the face of the flock.

Many peasants in our country pay little attention to the rearing of bred sheep. They think that they are not suitable for breeding, no breeding, no lactation, and no burden. Therefore, there is no additional feeding in the winter and spring seasons, so there are many developmental obstacles. Winter lambs perform better than Chun lambs during the breeding period because winter lambs were born early. When they “grown by grasses” for a long time, they had more nutrient reserves.

I. Selection of breeding sheep

Choosing the right breeding sheep for breeding is the basis and important method for improving the quality of the sheep. In production, the sheep are often selected during the breeding period, and the rams and mothers with excellent characteristics, high yield, and high breeding value are selected. The sheep were selected for reproduction, and unsatisfied or unreliable rams were converted into commodity production. The selection methods commonly used in production are based on the sheep's appearance and production performance, supplemented by pedigree review and offspring determination.

Second, the cultivation of bred sheep

After weaning, the lambs were grouped according to sex, size, and strength, and feeding was strengthened. Different feeding programs were adopted according to the feeding standards. The weight was measured monthly and the feeding program was adjusted according to the weight gain. After lambs are grazing in the weaning group, they still need to continue feeding supplements, and the amount of supplements should be determined according to pasture conditions.

The bred sheep just after the lactation group is in the early stage of development. This period is the most prosperous period for the growth and development of the bred sheep. At this time, it is the period of summer grass. In the grassy period, green feed should be fully utilized because it is nutritious and comprehensive, and it is very conducive to promoting the development of the digestive organs of the sheep. It can cultivate large individuals, long waists, well-proportioned muscles, round busts, and wide ribs. The entire internal organs are well developed and have the features of various types of sheep body appearance. Therefore, summer grass should be dominated by grazing, combined with a small amount of feeding. When grazing, it is necessary to pay attention to training the head sheep, control the sheep, do not develop good walks, and pick up the bad habits of grass. Grazing distance should not be too far away. In the spring when the transition from the house feeding to the grass stage, the positive value of the northern pasture grass return period, should control the bred sheep run green. Grazing should be preceded by yin and yang (grass leaves before eating grass), control walking, increase the time for grass harvesting.

During the withered period, especially during the first wintering period, the bred sheep are still in a period of growth and development. At this time, the forage grass is dry and the nutritional quality is poor. In addition, the winter time is long, the climate is cold, the wind is large, and the energy consumption is large. The nutrients can resist the cold invasion and ensure the growth and development, so it is necessary to strengthen feeding. In the withered grass season, in addition to insisting on grazing, it is also necessary to ensure that there is enough hay and silage. The amount of concentrate supplementation should be based on the status of the pasture and the status of supplementation of roughage. Generally, 0.2-0.5 kg of mixed concentrate is fed on a daily basis. As the ram generally grows fast and needs more nutrition, the ram should feed more concentrate than the ewes. At the same time, attention should be paid to supplementing minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, salt, and vitamin A and vitamin D to the bred sheep.

For bred sheep reared, if there is good quality leguminous hay, the crude protein of the concentrate in the diet should be 12% to 13%. If the hay quality is normal, the crude protein content can be increased to 16%. The energy in the mixed concentrate is preferably not less than 70% to 75% of the entire dietary energy.

Third, house rearing sheep concentrate formula

1. Early stage of gestation (4 to 8 months old)

Concentrate formula 1: 68% corn, peanut cake 12%, bean cake 7%, wheat bran 10%, calcium hydrogen phosphate 1%, additive 1%, salt 1%. Dietary composition: 0.4 kg of concentrate, 0.6 kg of mash, and 0.2 kg of corn stalk.

Formula 2: corn 50%, peanut cake 20%, bean cake 15%, wheat bran 12%, stone powder 1%, additive 1%, salt 1%. Dietary composition: 0.4 kg of concentrate, 1.5 kg of silage, 0.2 kg of hay or straw.

2. Late growth (8 to 18 months of age)

Formula 1: corn 45%, peanut cake 25%, sunflower cake 13%, wheat bran 15%, calcium hydrogen phosphate 1%, additive 1%, salt 1%. Diet composition: 0.5 kg of concentrate, 3 kg of silage, 0.6 kg of hay or straw.

Concentrate formulation 2: 80% corn, peanut cake 8%, wheat bran 10%, additive 1%, salt 1%. Dietary composition: 0.4 kg of concentrate, 0.5 kg of pounds, and 1 kg of corn straw.
