Japanese researchers have announced that they have successfully transplanted a spinach gene into a pig's body. This is the first time that humans have successfully transplanted a plant's genes into a large animal. The experiment was conducted by biologists at the National Institute of Biology in Japan. They injected a wave of vegetable genes into the sperm of a boar and transplanted it into the womb of the sow. The scientists involved in the study pointed out that because of the possibility of producing a fat-converting enzyme, the pig meat of this new type of pig is more nutritious than the traditional type of pork.
